Lawyers' fees are set according to custom, the client's financial situation, the difficulty of the case, the costs incurred by the lawyer, her reputation, and her due diligence.

It is forbidden to fix the fees according to the judicial result. However, the lawyer and the client may provide in addition to the remuneration for the services provided, an additional fee depending on the result obtained or the service provided (law 71–1130 of December 31, 1971, article 10).

There are three methods of calculating fees:

  • Calculation of the fee per time spent within the framework of a specific service.

  • Lump sum fee as part of a specific service.

  • Time spent or fixed fee increased by an additional precisely determined result fee.
